About Me

Welcome to my corner of the internet—a space where wrestling, media, and advocacy intersect. I’m Marisol Nugent, a former NCAA Division I wrestler for the Tar Heels, media strategist, and passionate advocate for women’s sports and legal equity. Throughout my career, I’ve broken barriers as the first female wrestler ever rostered in the ACC, contributed to national conversations on Title IX, and worked with organizations dedicated to advancing wrestling and sports policy.

This website serves as a platform to share my journey, expertise, and ongoing work in wrestling, media strategy, and sports law advocacy. Whether you’re here to learn more about my coaching and mentorship programs, explore my media and content curation projects, or dive into the legal and policy issues shaping women’s sports, my goal is to inform, inspire, and spark meaningful conversations.

Wrestling has been my life for the past 16 years and I am dedicated to providing the next generation of female wrestlers with better academic opportunities in the nation’s fastest growing sport. Let’s connect, collaborate, and continue driving change in the world of sports—one story, one match, and one policy at a time.

My Resumé

Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats—athlete, coach, media strategist, and advocate—but my passion has always been the same: pushing women’s wrestling forward. From making history as the first female wrestler rostered in the ACC to conducting research on Title IX and working with leading sports organizations, I’ve dedicated my work to amplifying the voices of female athletes and driving change in the industry.

My experience spans competitive wrestling, content creation, brand strategy, and sports law. This resume offers a snapshot of my journey, the impact I’ve made, and the skills I bring to every project.
