Marisol Nugent is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she graduated with honors from the Hussman School of Media and Journalism.
In May of 2024 she defended her honors thesis regarding the Title IX policy adherence of NCAA D1 Universities that have had prominent instances of student athlete sexual assault.
She plans to go to law school to study sports law and civil rights.
At UNC, she was the first female wrestler to be rostered on a men’s team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
She competed for the Sunkist Kids, Tar Heel Wrestling Club and the U23 U.S. national team while in undergrad.
USA Wrestling National Team Member
As a 3x national finalist and 9x All-American, Marisol Nugent has been named to USA wrestling’s age group national team 4x. She also runs camps and clinics throughout the summer when she is not competing.
Women’s Sports Law Advocate
During her senior year of college, Nugent conducted an honors thesis examining the Title IX policy adherence of 19 different NCAA D1 universities. Nugent has aspirations to attend law school following the completion of her NCAA eligibility.
Advertising & Digital Marketing
Nugent has utilized her skills in content curation and digital marketing to promote the growth of women’s wrestling at all age levels. She produces content for non-profit organizations and does freelance work for various programs.
